A Summary of the 2012 Forex Magnates Summit
ForexNewsNow – This year’s Forex Magnates Summit took place on November 14th in London at the Grange St. Paul’s Hotel. More than 550 business professionals and trading experts attended the event. Among these around 350 were high ranking representatives of major international forex brokers.
During the event various interactive panels were formed that discussed a large span of subjects. The first panel was shared by Leon Okun of SpotOption, Lior Nabat of Tradency, Stephen Best of FX Bridge as well as Tim Howkins of IG Group and Asaf Yigal of Currensee. The panel discussed the topic of new financial trends.
The event included various additional panels discussing topics such as technology, liquidity, regional markets and more. Notable speakers and panel members included Lars Seier Christensen of Saxo Bank, Glenn Stevens of Gain Capital, Ran Strauss of Leverate and Harry Moumdjian of Morgan Stanley.
Naturally the event also gave the opportunity to attendees to chat with each other in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. This was probably the greatest opportunity the Summit offered to its attendees. Market makers and industry specialists were able to exchange ideas but traders themselves also had the possibility to meet the owners and executives of their favorite forex broker.
Forex Magnates Awards
The highlight of the Summit was the Forex Magnates Awards Ceremony. The Awards Ceremony was created to acknowledge the best performing actors in the online trading business.
The grand prize of “Best Forex Broker” went to OANDA. The award was meant to recognize OANDAs constant strive towards innovation and the provision of top-quality services. OANDA was selected over 14 other (also highly respected) brokers which is something that again attests the professionalism of the company.
The decision to designate OANDA as the “Best Forex Broker” of the year was taken by a total of 15 judges that included high-ranking financial experts and industry specialists.
The “Best Proprietary FX Platform” award went to FXCM while the “Best Auto-Trading Software” award was given to the MetaTrader 4 platform. The “Best Retail FX Technology Provider” award was claimed by Leverate.
Mobile trading is highly popular these days and experts believe it will grow considerably in the near future. As such, Forex Magnates created the best “Best Mobile Platform” award which was claimed by Trade Interceptor. Another important category was that of the “Most Innovative Financial Product” which was won by tradable.
The “Best Social Trading Platform” award went to the company Currensee. Social trading is becoming increasingly popular that determines companies such as Currensee to continue to develop new and high-quality technology.
Binary options trading was also covered during the Forex Magnates Awards Ceremony. The “Best Binary Options Software Provider” award was claimed by nonetheless than SpotOption. SpotOption offers at this moment the most popular binary options platform provider and as such it’s not surprising that it managed to win the award.
This year’s Forex Magnates Summit was a huge success. Industry observers believe that such Summits help bring the industry forward by offering key people in the business a medium to meet and discuss future plans and new concepts.
