Forecast: FX traders focus on Bernanke speech
NEW YORK (Forex News Now) – U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke is due to speak on Tuesday in Columbus, Ohio, in a speech that should raise much interest in the online FX trading community.
Bernanke, who in February will mark five years in the position, will deliver his “Conversation on the Economy” at the Fisher College of Business at 8:00 P.M., GMT.
As head of the central bank, which sets the policy on short-term interest rates, Bernanke’s speeches are always scrutinized by FX traders searching for clues.
Should he hint at future policies in the Columbus speech, speculation could then have some short-term impact on USD currency market trading.
