NEW YORK (Forex News Now) – The FNN team has prepared a list of the top 10 economic events most likely to impact JPY and make realtime forex news during the coming week, Dec. 27 – Dec. 31.

1. Housing Starts: Monday, 5:00 A.M. – The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and tourism will release data on the change in the number of new residential building that began construction in November, a leading indicator of economic health. Previous: 6.4%.
2. Household Spending: Monday, 11:30 P.M. – The Statistics Bureau is set to release data on the November change in the total value of inflation-adjusted expenditures by consumers. The data is one of the primary gauges of economic health. Previous: -0.4%.
3. Tokyo Core CPI: Monday, 11:30 P.M. – The Statistics Bureau will release data on the annualized change in the price of goods and services purchased by consumers in Tokyo in the past month, excluding fresh food. Previous: -0.5%.
4. National Core CPI: Monday, 11:30 P.M. – The Statistics Bureau will release data on the annualized change in the price of goods and services purchased by consumers in the country in the past month, excluding fresh food. Previous: -0.6%.
5. Unemployment Rate: Monday, 11:30 P.M. – The Statistics Bureau will release data on the percentage of the total work force that was unemployed at the end of November. Previous: 5.1%.
6. Preliminary Industrial Production: Monday, 11:50 P.M. – The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will release preliminary data on the change in the total inflation-adjusted value of output by manufacturers, mines and utilities in November. This is a leading indicator of economic health. Previous: -2.0%.
7. Retail Sales: Monday, 11:50 P.M. – The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will release data on the annualized change in the total value of retail sales in November, the primary gauge of consumer spending. Previous: -0.2%.
8. Average Cash Earnings: Tuesday, 1:30 A.M. – The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare will release data on the annualized change in the total value of employment income collected in November. Previous: 0.6%.
9. Manufacturing PMI: Wednesday, 11:15 P.M. – Markit will release its monthly level of a diffusion index based on surveyed purchasing managers in the manufacturing industry. Any reading above 50.0 indicates industry expansion. Previous: 47.3.
10. Bank Holiday: Friday – Japanese banks will close for 4-day holiday.
